Project summary
Kinequip needed real-time inventory synced from their Sage 100 ERP to their Shopify stores. Kinequip leverages Shopify for their USA and Canadian stores. Kinequip contracted My Project Solution to write a custom integration to sync inventory from Sage 100 to Shopify.
The Strategy
My Project Solution wrote a custom integration to the Sage 100 ERP SQL Server data base to export inventory data to Shopify. As product inventory is modified in Sage 100, data is synced to the Shopify store.
One challenge in the integration was dealing with the Shopify API, and how it allows for product inventory data updates. We created a custom data store to house the relationship of ERP SKU’s to Shopify product inventory ID’s.
Inventory accuracy audits are run weekly, confirming the data is staying up to date, showing accurate inventory information to Kinequip customers.
Proven Results
This solution has helped increase ecommerce order conversions on both websites by 50%, and increased the number of product quote requests. The solution removed all management of product inventory data. Since its launch, the solution has synced more than 5 million data records.
